Happy New Year and welcome to 2022!


In collaboration with our partner, MFAT, the ASEAN New Zealand Business Council is delighted to bring you a Market Update from Indonesia. Guest speakers H.E. Kevin Burnett, New Zealand's Ambassador to Indonesia, and Diana Permana, New Zealand's Trade Commissioner to Indonesia, will provide us with an overview of the outlook on Indonesia, key developments, market trends and opportunities, as well as the implications on New Zealand trade and business interests in to Indonesia.


We will also hear from a representative of the business community in Indonesia, who will share with us their experiences of how the business situation currently is in Indonesia, speaker details to be announced shortly.


The event will be moderated by Stuart Mockett, General Manager International Markets, Beca. Beca has forty years' experience in the Indonesia market.


The Zoom Webinar will be concluded with a Q & A session.

    Ambassador at Asean

    Kevin Burnett is the New Zealand Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia. He took up his post in September 2021.
    Before his appointment as Ambassador to Indonesia, Kevin was the Consul General in Hawai’i and non-resident Ambassador to the North Pacific States of the Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands and Republic of Palau.
    Kevin has experience across several public sector agencies. He has held roles in the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Justice. Kevin joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2015 and was appointed as the Chief of Staff. In 2019 Kevin undertook a secondment to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as the Principal Adviser to the Chief Executive. Before joining the public sector, Kevin completed 35 years’ service as an officer in the New Zealand Army.
    Kevin is married to Catherine and they have three adult sons.

    Trade Commissioner at NZTE

    Diana Permana is the first Indonesian that served as New Zealand’s Trade Commissioner to Indonesia, based in Jakarta. She is responsible for facilitating and promoting trade and investment, as well as building and maintaining extensive network of business relationships relevant to New Zealand businesses across Indonesia. My role covers various focus sectors which cover F&B/ Agriculture/ FMCG, Renewable Energy, Aviation, Specialized Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Tech sector.
    Diana joined NZTE in November 2013 as a Business Development Manager, focused on the renewable energy, aviation and specialized manufacturing sectors. Previously, she served as Senior Business Development Manager with Australian Trade Commission in Jakarta for eight years, where she managed multiple sectors which include the infrastructure, building and construction, Private Public Partnership development program and renewable energy development portfolio for this market. She has strong background on government relations, business advisory as well as project management. She also has worked in the banking sector with Commonwealth Bank Jakarta, responsible for managing fresh funds and customers' investment portfolios.
    Diana holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing, from Upper Iowa University.
