The New Zealand ASEAN Business Alliance (ABA), in partnership with the Southeast Asia CAPE, is proud to bring you our second annual business conference.
It's a 2 day, Virtual event exploring how New Zealand and ASEAN businesses can come out of the events of 2020 bigger, stronger and more resilient than ever by making the most of the ASEAN region and beyond. He is also Professor of International Business and Strategy and the inaugural Chair in Business in Asia at Victoria University of Wellington. In these roles, Siah works closely with various stakeholders and companies on their strategies in Asia and Asia’s engagement in New Zealand. Beyond publishing in international top journals and an expert in strategy, competition and international business, Siah is Senior Editor of Strategy, Institutions and Research Design of the Journal of World Business, a leading international business journal, and sits on various editorial boards of international top tier journals over the years. In New Zealand, Siah sits on the national assessment panels for New Zealand Prime Minister’s Scholarships for Asia, Prime Minister’s Business Scholarships, and Marsden Fund. Before joining Victoria University of Wellington, Siah was Professor in Strategy and Associate Dean Postgraduate and International (Asia) at the University of Auckland Business School, a research fellow at Cass Business School, City University in London and the National University of Singapore, where he completed his PhD in Management. Siah is Visiting Professor to a few Asian universities. He writes frequently in the media.

On top of this, Eva plays a key role in building and maintaining client partnerships in Kantar Philippines.
Eva can already look back on a long career as a market research professional with over 20 years of experience in the field working on various industries in both a local and regional capacity. In the last decade, her focus was on content and technology related researches, founded on strong fundamental human understanding, before later narrowing her focus to studies about the connected consumers and how they navigate the digital lifestyle.
She joined Kantar in 2014 and acted as the local lead for Kantar’s foray into understanding the digital customer through the Connected Life Study. Ambassador to ASEAN at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade
view morePam Dunn became New Zealand’s second dedicated Ambassador to ASEAN, based in Jakarta, in March 2018.
Pam is a career diplomat with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She was posted to Beijing twice as First Secretary and then again as Deputy Head of Mission in the New Zealand Embassy to China, and Shanghai as New Zealand Consul-General. She has also had three short term assignments overseas: Bangkok, Beijing, and Kuala Lumpur.
In Wellington, Pam has worked in both North Asia Division and South East Asia Division. In 2016 she was in the Office of the Chief Executive working on Asia issues. In 2017 she was seconded as Senior Private Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Pam is from Wellington. She studied at Victoria University and Beijing Normal University. She speaks Chinese and is learning Indonesian.Kevin Fitzgerald

Benny's career in investment banking spans almost three decades. He has worked in Australia, the United Kingdom and Singapore for several large global European and United States banking institutions including as a director at Deutsche Bank Singapore, with responsibility for the sale of structured equity products and solutions to a South East Asian institutional client base. During her time with the agency she worked with clients across the telecommunication, personal care, beverages, and household/homecare industries – providing consultations in brand strategy, advertising development and optimisation and media effectiveness.

Leading a business unit of over 110 passionate people, the Global sustainability function drives Fonterra’s strategic social and environmental sustainability priorities globally, manages our environmental management system and provides expert support to the business operations to reduce Fonterra’s environmental footprint across emissions, water use, packaging, waste and biodiversity.
Carolyn also leads Fonterra’s sustainable land management operations in New Zealand, comprising the Fonterra-owned farms which support each processing site, Dairy Fert, a nutrient spreading operation and Proliq, a liquid stock food business produced from lactose manufacture. These businesses turn waste into profit and circulate valuable nutrients (through crops and feed) back to our shareholder farmers.
Carolyn sits on the Steering Committee of Living Water, a partnership between Fonterra and the Department of Conservation seeking to demonstrate and scale sustainable farming among healthy ecosystem. She is the co-Chair of the Aotearoa Circle’s land & water management group and a member of the Ministry for Environment’s Chief Executive’s Advisory group.
Carolyn has an LLB and BA (Politics) from Victoria University and spent the first part of her career as a corporate lawyer, before moving into policy, stakeholder and sustainability roles in Auckland and Washington, DC. Dr Aladdin Rillo
ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General at ASEAN Secretariat
view moreDr. Aladdin D. Rillo is appointed as the Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Economic Community for 2018-2021. He will support the Secretary-General of ASEAN by providing leadership in the implementation of the AEC Blueprint 2025 and will lead the AEC Department of the ASEAN Secretariat. He will also provide strategic advice to support ASEAN’s economic integration agenda
Before assuming this role, Dr.. Rillo was a Senior Economist with the Asian Development Bank Institute in Tokyo where he designed and administered capacity building training and policy dialogue on development issues.
Prior to that Dr. Rillo worked at the ASEAN Secretariat for more than ten years where he served in various positions; the latest as Director and Chief Economist of the ASEAN Integration Monitoring Office (2010-2013), during which he spearheaded the implementation of regional economic surveillance and integration monitoring in ASEAN as well as provided high level policy and recommendation to support ASEAN economic integration initiatives.
Dr. Rillo holds PhD and MA degrees in economics from the University of Hawaii, and an AB in economics from the Ateneo de Manila University. He has also held various lecturing and senior economist positions in the region and beyond.

Her whole career is dedicated to the food industry. She started working with United States Potato Board, Thailand representative office, working to educate and increase consumption of US potatoes in different channels. Later she joined Unilever South East Asia regional office, based in Singapore, as a Regional Assistant Brand Manager for Knorr brand. There she worked for instant meal platform, covering different markets, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar.
As part of her study and work, she has been working and living in different countries in Europe, Asia and the USA. It’s part of her passion to learn and gain insight of different cultures – especially their food culture.
Jane graduated with a first class honour in Liberal Arts (British and American studies) at Thammasat University. Deputy Secretary Trade and Economic at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade
view moreVangelis Vitalis is Deputy Secretary, Trade and Economic, at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He is also the APEC2021 Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) Chair for New Zealand’s host year and the Chief Negotiator for the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union.
Previously, Vangelis was the Chief Negotiator who concluded the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership and before that in 2007-2009 led the conclusion of the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA) and the Malaysia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (MNZFTA).
Prior to taking up his role in Wellington in 2017, Vangelis was New Zealand’s Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Geneva where he chaired the agriculture negotiations in a personal capacity. In this role he helped draft the text of the historic 2015 Nairobi WTO Ministerial Conference to eliminate agricultural export subsidies. Vangelis has also been the Ambassador to the European Union and NATO in Brussels and has had postings to Canberra and Moscow.
Vangelis has worked outside the Ministry including as an economist in the Secretariat of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). He is a past member of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Global Future Council on Trade and a member of the WEF Trade and Investment Expert network. He has chaired in a personal capacity the OECD Committee on Trade and the Environment (2008-2017), the OECD Global Forum on Trade and Climate Change and is currently the New Zealand Envoy for the Small Advanced Economies’ Initiative.
A keen saltwater land-based fisherman, Vangelis is married with three children and speaks Greek, German and Russian. He is a longstanding (and suffering) supporter of the Wellington Phoenix Football Club.Campbell Wilson

view moreMr Campbell Wilson is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Scoot, the wholly owned low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA). Mr Wilson joined SIA in April 1996 and was previously the founding CEO of Scoot between 2011 to 2016, before the airline merged with Tigerair.
Prior to his current role, Mr Wilson was the Senior Vice-President Sales & Marketing of SIA, where he oversaw Pricing, Distribution, eCommerce, Merchandising, Brand & Marketing, Global Sales and the airline’s overseas offices. During his career with SIA, Mr Wilson has held positions overseas and in the head office. He started off as a Management Trainee in New Zealand in 1996, was posted to Australia in 1999 as Regional Marketing Manager South West Pacific, then to the Singapore head office in 2003, where he held Revenue Management and Network Planning roles. Following that, Mr Wilson was appointed Vice-President Canada in 2006, General Manager Hong Kong in 2008
and General Manager Japan in 2010, before returning to Singapore in 2011 to set up Scoot.
