Garth is experienced in capital raising, Power Purchasing Agreements and project execution and construction. Garth has been involved in many large transactions across the NZ energy sector, including project and structured finance and leading multi-discipline deals teams on large, complex transactions.

    Invest NZ

    Hayden Mackenzie is the Head of Future Energy Investment at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise – New Zealand’s international economic development agency. Hayden focuses on the attraction and acceleration of investment into renewable energy and industrial projects in New Zealand.
    In his career prior to joining NZTE, Hayden worked as an exploration geologist in New Zealand, Indonesia, and Canada before transitioning into ESG consulting and venture capital.
    Hayden holds a BSc in Geology and MSc in Engineering Geology from the University of Canterbury, Master of Legal Studies from the University of Auckland, and an MBA from the University of British Columbia.

    Brendon is a Director in the Project Finance team at ANZ Institutional. He has over 13 years experience in the banking sector in New Zealand across Project Finance, Leverage Finance and Resources, Energy and Infrastructure. Brendon has an extensive background in financing renewable energy projects in New Zealand. Prior to ANZ, Brendon worked as a corporate solicitor in the UK and New Zealand.

  • Cameron Mitchell (ANZ Head of Geopolitical Risk at ANZ Bank)

    Cameron Mitchell

    ANZ Head of Geopolitical Risk at ANZ Bank

    Cameron Mitchell joined ANZ in 2021 to set up and manage the bank’s geopolitical risk function. In this role he coordinates the production of tailored geopolitical risk assessments and advises management and clients. He supports portfolio and exposure reviews, stress tests, and crisis and response planning, as well as developing and employing tools to enhance ANZ strategic risk management.
    He is also an invited member of the National Security College Futures Council within the Australian National University and lectures on the theory and application of geoeconomics.
    Previously, Cameron worked for HSBC in Hong Kong and London, where he was Global Head of Geopolitical Risk.
    Cameron is a former Australian public servant and Australian Defence Force reserve officer, where he worked on defence and security issues. He also served on operational deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan providing support to operational-level commanders and national-level agencies.
    He is the author of articles and a book about the Russian defence industry, published through the UK International Institute for Strategic Studies and the Australian Strategic and Defence Studies Centre.

    Tessa Price is the Country Head for ANZ Korea and a seasoned banking executive with over two decades of experience in the industry. Her career encompasses a wide range of skills and accomplishments across multiple geographies and disciplines.
    As Country Head Korea, Tessa is responsible for leading the Korean franchise, driving Korean corporate relationships across the region and growing ANZ’s access to Korean FI liquidity.
    Throughout her career, Tessa has been key in setting strategies for large-scale businesses, including Commonwealth Bank of Australia, UDC Finance, ANZ in the Pacific and Institutional Bank in Australia. She managed substantial budgets at the Commonwealth Bank, and larger P&L budgets in New Zealand and the Pacific.

    Hyundai New Zealand

    Gavin's career spans over 28 years in the automotive industry, with 24 years focused on Hyundai products. He has held various roles in Technical, Training, and Management, mainly in Aftersales.
    With a strong technical background and a passion for new technologies, Gavin has been deeply involved in Hyundai New Zealand’s electric and fuel cell vehicle (FCEV) developments in New Zealand.

    He led the introduction of Hyundai New Zealand's first fully electric vehicle, the IONIQ, in 2016. As Hyundai New Zealand electric vehicle range grew, focus was shifted to the launch of passenger FCEV’s – Nexo and the installation of New Zealand’s first 700-bar mobile hydrogen refueller in 2019, finally had a role in introducing Hyundai New Zealand’s first FCEV Truck into service operations.

    Executive Director of ASEAN New Zealand Business Council

    Liz is a trade policy expert and former negotiator with a career dedicated to enhancing New Zealand's economic engagement in Southeast Asia and beyond.
    As a former trade policy advisor, Liz was instrumental in implementing and delivering capacity-building programs across Southeast Asia and the Pacific, strengthening regional partnerships and facilitating economic growth through FTA negotiations. Her expertise extends to domestic regulation, with a particular focus on the telecommunications sector.
    For the past decade, Liz has served as the Executive Director of the ASEAN New Zealand Business Council and acted as the Secretariat for the ASEAN Business Alliance Network of Chambers (a business network connecting all NZ Chambers across ASEAN).
    Liz represents New Zealand on both the ASEAN Business Advisory Council and the RCEP Business Advisory Council, providing valuable insights into trade opportunities and challenges.
