Before joining MFAT to lead the team developing the APEC CEO Summit, as well as CEO roles and working closely with the NZ business community, Jonathan spent 25 years making stories that matter in the major events, theatre, and screen industries. Recent projects include: Creative Producer - Tokyo Embassy Activation during RWC2019, Creative Director - New Zealand Country and Trade Pavilions CIIE Expo - Shanghai, Creative Director - Queens Wharf Auckland Fan Zone for DHL New Zealand Lions Series 2017, Creative Producer - Auckland visit of Premier Li Keqiang, Creative Director - The Advantage Line NZ in London during RWC2015, Creative Director - Opening Ceremony of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in Christchurch.
He has a strong background in strategic planning and development as well as sponsorship acquisition and maintenance. With the Summit and New Zealand’s APEC host year having gone virtual, his 5 years as a TV drama director are also proving useful!
