Doing Business with ASEAN - Practical Insights for Singapore - Zoom.


In collaboration with BNZ/Meredith Connell/Grant Thornton/ANZBC, we are delighted to bring you the first of three hybrid events, focussing on doing business with ASEAN. Please join us on Wednesday 30 March at 5:30PM NZT, for a special event - Doing Business with ASEAN, Practical Insights for Singapore, hosted at the Meredith Connell Centre, in Auckland.


This event will be the first of three hybrid events throughout the year offering attendees practical advice on 'how to' in three major ASEAN markets on three areas of operation โ€“ Banking, Legal, and Accounting, as well as a business perspective. This first event in the series will focus on Singapore.



We welcome four guest speakers to the panel :

  • Greg Thompson, Partner at Grant Thornton.
  • Lauren Cadogan, Trade Specialist at BNZ.
  • Mark Thomas, Managing Director of Serviceworks and ANZBC Chair.


Kenneth Leong, Director Tiaki Capital, will be the Moderator for the event.

    Michelle Phang is a Partner in Ashurst, an international law firm with 29 offices in 17 countries. She is with the Corporate Transactions team in Singapore .

    She has been advising on cross-border acquisitions and joint ventures and public takeovers, with a particular focus on ASEAN for close to 20 years. Along with the transactional element of these matters, she also advises on the initial set-up and day-to-day legal matters arising from these transactions.
    Her clients include state-owned entities, private enterprises and family offices.

    She has been consistently ranked as a leading corporate lawyer in various legal publications since 2009. His clients cover a broad spectrum of businesses including those in the manufacturing, distribution, Maori business sector and film industries, and range from high-net-worth individuals, owner-operated business, Not for Profit organisations, listed entities, and multi-nationals.

    He received the Leadership Award for Outstanding Contribution towards building Smart Cities, the Asia Smart Cities Excellence Award, and is part of the Top 50 Most Impactful Smart Cities Leaders.

    He is an experienced director and has held governance roles across a range of private, public and not-for-profit organisations.

    Mark is normally based in Auckland and Singapore.
