End of Year Networking with Guest Speaker Mark Sinclair - Thursday 30 November, 2023 at 5:30PM NZT - Meredith Connell Centre - Level 7, 8 Hardinge Street, Auckland CBD.

Please join us on Thursday 30 November for an End of Year Networking Event with Guest Speaker Mark Sinclair, Lead for the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) at Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade (MFAT), who will provide an overview of the IPEF agreement and the benefit it brings to the New Zealand economy.

The Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) is an economic agreement covering:

  • trade;
  • supply chains;
  • clean economy; and
  • fair economy.

On 23 May 2022, Leaders from 14 Indo-Pacific countries including New Zealand announced the start of talks toward launching negotiations on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity.

Countries that have committed to developing the IPEF include both ASEAN partners and some of the region's major economies. Along with New Zealand, Australia, Brunei, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, the US and Viet Nam have all pledged to collaborate on closer economic integration in new and novel ways, not limited to trade.

The Framework will cover some of the most important future-focused economic issues facing our region and the world, including harnessing the digital economy, decarbonising our economies, and making our supply chains more resilient.

Mark's presentation will be followed by networking.

With our sincere thanks to MC for being our event partner for this event and many others throughout 2023.
